Rocky Mountain Scoliosis and Spine(RMSS) provides comprehensive spinal care to adult and pediatric patients with spinal deformity, scoliosis, cervical spine disorders, spine tumors , revision spine or complex spinal disorders.
On the campus of Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, the clinicians of RMSS work collaboratively with other specialists needed for a person with a spinal disorder.

Dr. Shay Bess and Breton Line have just received notice that their abstract - Operative Time and Patient Age, Rather Than Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP) Use, Increase Major Complications in Adult Spinal Deformity (ASD) Surgery - has been nominated for the Hibbs award at the 2012 Annual Scoliosis Research Society Meeting. This meeting will take place in Chicago September 5th-8th with Hibbs Award winners announced on the final day of the meeting. Russell A. Hibbs awards are given to both the best basic science and clinical papers presented at the SRS Annual Meeting. The top five abstracts of both categories are invited to submit their manuscripts for consideration.
Shay Bess, MD and Breton Line have an abstract that will be presented at the International Meeting on Advanced Spinal Techniques (IMAST) that has been identified as a finalist for the Whitecloud Award for Best Clinical Paper. The Whitecloud Award is presented in honor of Dr. Thomas Whitecloud III who was recognized as a pioneer in spinal deformity and founder of IMAST. Dr. Bess will be presenting the paper - Does Recombinant Human Bone Morphogenetic Protein-2 (BMP) Use in Adult Spinal Deformity (ASD) Increase Complications and Are Complications Dose Related? A Prospective, Multicenter Study of 257 Consecutive Patients - in July. The award winner will be announced on Saturday, July 21, 2012.
Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) of the Spine and Rocky Mountain Scoliosis and Spine in conjunction with Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center and Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children has been recently identified as a Center of Excellence for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) of the spine.
